September flew by!

I love this time of year! The beginning of fall always feels like a fresh start--a chance to refocus and settle in for a season of coziness, crisp sunny days, BILLS football, and getting back into a more regular routine. Here is what kept Sweet Home Photography busy this month:

Started the month off strong on day one with Lollypop Farm's Professionals and their Pars for Pets charity golf tournament at Greystone! A beautiful day to be outside, a personal golf cart chauffeur aka my best friend Melissa, and a great cause supporting local pets in need--what could be better than that?

Next up, Sweet Home combined forces with my friend Sarah of Second Look Styling to celebrate a belated "Gorgeous Grandma Day" at the Village at Unity. We had an afternoon of shopping, styling, portraits, and good conversation, and I may or may not have left with a few new things to add to my own wardrobe!

I had a great time capturing an evening of wine tasting at Radio Social to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer's, which is coming up this weekend in Rochester! I will be there taking photos at the event, and there is still time to register or donate.

I had two high school senior sessions booked this month, and the first got a whole lot cuter when his baby niece decided to crash the party:

If you've been a listener to Seniors Rock Radio on 1180 in the past, it has a new host and a new name! You can catch the Still Blooming Radio Show on Saturdays at 10, now hosted by my friend and fellow social worker Laurie! I had a great time visiting the studio and was happy to capture some photos and guest on an episode while I was there! You can listen to the recording here.

Story time: earlier this year I was photographing an event, and ran into a cousin-in-law who I hadn't seen in years--and her name also happens to be Meg! I had so much fun taking her daughter's senior photos on a beautiful evening out at Highland Park.

It's not every day that I get to visit a new community, but this month it happened twice! I was invited to photograph the grand re-opening of the Pearl Nursing Center as they re-brand to the Astoria of Rochester. If you're in the industry, you may know that this particular community's reputation precedes it. They've done a beautiful job renovating the space, and they sure know how to throw a party! What impressed me the most was the team's acknowledgement that this is a building that's had its challenges, and their commitment to make it a good place to be moving forward. I'm looking forward to visiting again!

You know I always love to spend time at the Village at Unity, and their Oktoberfest celebration did not disappoint! A rainy forecast didn't put a damper on the festivity, and it was a great afternoon of beer, pretzels, dancing, decorations, friends, and family.

Have I mentioned how grateful I am to be a part of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce? This month's after-hours networking was held at the Genesee Brewhouse, and ended with one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in a while!

I haven't been out to the Village at Fairways in a while, and I was so glad to visit last week to help celebrate their fall festival! It was a fun afternoon complete with a scarecrow contest, baking competition, gourd bowling, and a visit with my Aunt Di!

Another stop on the way to the Walk to End Alzheimer's--Willow Ridge's casino night fundraiser held at Crimson Ridge Gardens! A great night for a great cause, and I had such a good time seeing friends and hanging out with my parents 😊

I've been working hard to find more time for self-care these days, and Pure Barre Pittsford is a big part of that plan. It's a welcoming and fun community to be part of, and their open house reflected that 100%.

I look forward to my time with the Lerminiaux Family every fall, and this year did not disappoint! I'm so grateful to be invited back year after year to capture these memories ❤️

It's been a while since I've been to homecoming, and it was fun to visit Brighton's celebration last weekend! Of course I had to make some furry friends while I was there 🐾

I love being part of Chili Rec's events, and it feels like I haven't seen them in so long! It was a beautiful day for fall fun, and I was glad to capture it!

I am still processing the absolute joy that was photographing Kathy with her family and friends, and I have a lot to say about this one, so I will just leave a little preview here. Stay tuned for more to come on this very special session!

And last but absolutely not least, it was an honor to attend the "Their Light Shines" luminary memorial at Webster Comfort Care Home. A beautiful night all around.

October is looking full of fun, Halloween festivity, and some very special sessions. Hope to see you in my travels!
